Fasting is wonderful. Religiously, spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. It gives the body time to rejuvenate itself as well as rid the wastes. A day is sometimes sufficient but people go up to a few days. It can be dangerous if fasting continues to long.

fasting for 3-5 hours daily is normal for most people
fasting and eating only at night is a Ramada tradition.
fasting is good for the body

Absolutely - if done intelligently - it helps clean out your system. It makes you feel lighter and more alert. Even if it doesn't reach the point of weight lose.

well for some people,they do it because its their culture/religion [u know that sorta stuff] they usually do it for perhaps a month or less then that,they don't eat during daylight but do when its dark. good luck =]
