Is it because born agains have hijacked the word christian? Is it because they are trying to become the largest christian group? Is it that they seem more like a cult then a religious group? In reality they are just a copy of a copy of a copy of the original christian group, and everyone knows that a copy isn't as clear as the original.

Actually that is changing. In these days of extreme trouble in the world, Christians of all persuasions are realizing that it is important to be united but not necessarily uniform. Unity brings strength. Uniformity causes dissention and division. The times they are a changing.

I'm born again and living in joy. I'm not exactly sure what your question is. My biggest obstacle to inviting Jesus in to my life was the religiosity you speak of. Being a Christian is not about religion, it's relationship. You can be born again and belong to any of the sects you mention- it's just not as much fun. Us born again-ers are truly working at emulating Jesus. He is all about love. I don't judge, condemn, gossip or believe that I am any better than anyone else- Christian or not. If you're looking for an absolute answer... ask God. He is the only absolute. God bless.

You have to define what "born agains" are.

Those I knew ran "houses" or "communes" and were, basically, communistic. When you converted and joined the "house" all your worldy goods became the property of God, Jesus and the House, be it a car, home, bank account, stock protfolio, camera or guitar.

They also ran a house business (such as a janitorial service) and all the men did that work, all the women cooked and cleaned.

They also grew their own veggies.

They had Friday night gatherings.

Now, others I know who consider themselves Born Again don't have a church they regularly attend, they read the Bible, were Baptized as adults. Don't go to Fridnight gathers and still own their own possessions.

Born Again Christians (many of whom are Catholics, Episcopalians and Main-line Protestants) have self-righteously declared that no one else is a TRUE Christian.

I'm not so certain who is not getting along with whom.

I think if you tell someone that they're not going to heaven because they don't tow some particular theological line, you don't win friends.

I don't know the answer but Jesus said in the Gospel of John that if you are not "born again" you can't enter heaven.

The Apostle Peter (The first Pope) was a Born Again Christian.

The K-mart shoppers of the religious market place.

Dang, best answer should be to the one that mentioned Jack Chick. His little comics are so totaly about hatred and intolerance that they should be registered as promoting hatred and Mr. Chick should be in prison for encouraging hate crimes. It is no wonder people think Fundies are from Satan after reading some of those things.

what do u mean born again? i think i'm confused. i thought christians were born again......anyway, i'm protestant, and i think i'm born again, depending on what that term really means, and i take offense to the copy thing, because u know what, the reformation happened because that 'copy' was completely corrupt....besides, if u've got the jesus factor down, we can sort it all out in heaven.....seriously though, i'm gonna have to ask what's born again

Do you know where the term "born again" comes from?

Jesus Himself said in John 3 "You must be born again."

And by the way, some Catholics, Episcopalians, and mainline protestants are born again.

Ecclesiasticus
Chapter 1

36 Be not incredulous to the fear of the Lord: and come not to him with a double heart. 37 Be not a hypocrite in the sight of men, and let not thy lips be a stumblingblock to thee. 38 Watch over them, lest thou fall, and bring dishonour upon thy soul, 39 And God discover thy secrets, and cast thee down in the midst of the congregation. 40 Because thou camest to the Lord wickedly, and thy heart is full of guile and deceit.
