Scientific studies continue to prove that homosexuality is biological; therefore, people do not choose to be gay, they are born gay.

Here is an article that will refute people saying that they are BORN GAY.

The "gay gene" theory which was discredited by 1999. Even the Globe reported in a major article on Sunday, February 7, 1999, under the headline, "The Fading Gay Gene," that "The [gay] gene still has not been found, and interest in - and enthusiasm for, the 'gay gene' research has waned among activists and scientists alike. And there is a growing consensus that sexual orientation is much more complicated than a matter of genes."

In fact, much or most of the research is going the other way. The psychiatrist who was responsible for removing homosexuality from the disordered list of the American Psychiatric Society in 1973, Dr. Robert Spitzer, Chief of Biometric Research and Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, has done studies which show that some homosexuals can and do change. "Like most psychiatrists," he says, "I thought that homosexual behavior could only be resisted and that no one could really change their orientation. I now believe that to be false. Some people can and do change."

Yes. Natural seclection isn't perfect...it is the way things work. There is nothing morally wrong with homosexuality. If you look at it strictly from a evolutionary stand point then it's not a step in the progressive direction. But yes you are born gay or you are born straight. Can you really help who you are attracted to? Can you really?? No. The answer is simple when you apply logic and reason.

no i dont think so Even if it were shown that there is a genetic component to homosexuality, that would still not make it right. Compare, for example, alcoholism. It is generally believed that there is an inherited tendency for alcoholism. But that inherited tendency does not condone the behavior. Instead, society tries to compassionately help those caught in that addiction. While difficult, many people inflicted with alcoholism are successful in reforming their lives.
All human beings are faced with sexual temptation of some sort during their lifetime. Homosexual attractions and temptations are not exempted, just as adultery is not exempted from being sinful behavior.

Probably. Science indicates it could be so and many gay people I've talked with all indicated they knew what they were by the age of 5 or 6, but didn't realize the social implications until they were older.

Not all instances are, however, this way. Some people can be indoctrinated. Some people can be abused into it. Some people can make a conscious choice to do it.

These, however, can't truly be classified as gay people, they have embraced or adpoted the life style.

No one knows for sure. What IS known, is that sexual orientation becomes fixed between the ages of 3 and 5.

And by the way, evolutionary theory does not state that every member of a given population must breed. There are also heterosexuals that don't breed.

Then there are your parents, who should not have had children.

Shalom,

Yes people are born gay because the soul self choose that life for them. To say otherwise is to be spiritually ignorant, which the majority on this board are. There are no accidents and we have little choice to what actually goes on in our lives, only opportunities to invoke at intervals. What has Paul given in regards to those born into the conditions they are in?

“On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, Why did you make me like this, will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use, and another for common(dishonorable) use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?” (Rom 9:19-22 NAS).

Christians seem to ignore the fact that everything is by the will of God and like Yeshua given even each hair on your hair is by his will. But since they God has hardened mankind's hearts making them unable to comprehend things from the soul perspective. Until you are able to unloose your mind then you will never comprehend why a individual is born the way they are.

Peace

Aza

I think so. I am friends with some gay people and they have been gay since puberty so it follows that the were born that way and didn't know until they became sexually aware.

'Natural selection' no longer applies to humans. Have you seen the people on Jerry Springer?

Being born gay, or choosing a gay lifestyle really does not matter.
Once a person hears the gospel and responds to it, they become aware that they have a choice to sin, or not.

Choosing the lifestyle? Make a new choice.
Born into it? Now you HAVE a choice.

Well, technically we're not born with any sexual orientation already activated. Because of the structure of the hypothalamus and the certain neurohormones excreted from it, we are sort of predestined to be gay/straight/bi/whatever later on in life. We don't choose to have feelings for certain people whether they be the opposite or same gender. You don't choose who you fall in love with. Being gay is not a choice, sorry to disappoint. Our future sexual orientation is already determined before birth.
