There are several places to locate scholarships for college. The sources are free to locate and apply for the scholarships. However, it takes time to hear back if considered for the scholarship by the committee.

First, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships current students can apply for consideration.

Second, the college's financial aid office has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list some, too.

Third, the public library has a book listing scholarships. Some of them are not even listed on the web.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most offer a customized search based on information a person enters into a form. Most are updated on a regular basis.

Good luck!
