Atheists try to eliminate Christians?

Must be all those atheist suicide bombers I keep hearing about on the news, right?

May I suggest that you read "Why We Believe What We Believe," by Andrew Newberg? He has written a very clear and comprehensible work on the nature of belief, from a neurobiological standpoint.

Isn't everyone an atheist? I assume the questioner doesn't believe, for instance, in the Muslim God. Or in Zeus. Or Ahura Mazda. Or Kali. Would s/he feel OK respecting people who do believe in non-Christian Gods?

Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.

Funny - atheists come onto a theistic section of Yahoo answers and claim that Christians are trying to force theism on them...

Maybe if you hung out on any other section of Y! Answers you wouldn't find so many theists...

Sure its your right to beleive what you want. We athiests dont have a problem with that.

But we do have a problem when you christians tell us that WE are wrong, and WE are going to hell, and that WE have to be "saved".

That is where we have a problem because YOU are not allowing us to beleive what WE want. You are trying to force us to be more like you.

And that is the LAST thing we want to do.
