Honestly, I've become athiest. I use to be a Catholic when I was little. As I grew older, I started to question my faith and God in general. Then I began to not believe at all since there was no "real proof" that I knew of (I know the belief in God is based on faith). I want to believe in God again, weather or not I would belong to a certain religion. I know there isn't any scientific proof, but is there anything that you all believe that helps with your faith? Thanks in advance.

Look around you and see the miracles that God has done. Do you see the sunrise and the sunset? There would be none without God. To create something from nothing, as He did when He formed the universe, proves that he exists. We hear artists claim that they have "created" something but everything they use came from something that already exists.

When you feel down and someone calls just to say hello...it isn't just a coincidence. That accident you narrowly missed...not just timing. God is all around you everyday...you just have to be willing to realize it and let Him lead you. He knew everything about you before you were even conceived...your name, the number of hairs on your head.

Matthew 17:20 tells us that "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Your faith is being tested and it will be tested time and time again. You just have to keep your faith alive. Even if it is small it is still powerful.

Keep this thought in mind. When you die and the question of why did I believe is finally answered, what will you have lost by believing. You'll gain much more than you will loose because by not believing you may loose everything!

Science can neither prove nor disprove that God exists. 1st Corinthians 13:12 tells us "Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. F66 All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now." Science can only attempt to explain things but somethings are beyond the knowledge of man. It is not for us to know everything now but when God is ready to reveal all things to us then we will know.

Romans 3:23 tells us that "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard". We can none live up to the perfection that is God's and God's alone. We are flesh and flesh is weak...we just have to keep our spirit strong and know that in moments of doubt we must work harder to keep our faith alive.

Try visiting www.evidenceofgod.com It can give you scientific proof on some things, although if you really need to go into detail, you may have to buy a book from them. But the things they tell you about for free on the site are very convincing. Also, a really good thing to do is to pray that God will help you strengthen your faith. I remember a long time ago (just a few years ago, really) I went through a period of time in which, every so often, I would have a flood of questions come through my mind that were questioning my faith and whether or not God existed and if the Bible was true. I would pray that God would help me through and He did, up until I was listening to a Christian radio station and I found out about this book called "A Skeptic's Search for God." The book has a lot of good arguments against evolution as well as specific prophecies in the bible that came true AFTER they were written. It was written by Ralph Muncaster, who also made the website that I told you about earlier in this answer. Since then, I have been very strong in my faith as far as believing in the Bible and God's existence.

Pleas read the Bible. Faith is a gift from God and it comes and grows as we hear God's word and then obey it. Start with the Gospel of John then the book of Romans. Then maybe you would want to read the whole New Testament from the beginning. Also read Isaiah chapter 9 and 53. Psalms 22. What you need to understand is the Gospel. When you were growing up you never really understood the Gospel and never found that hope in religion that you knew.

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who is from eternity past. He came to this earth, born of the virgin Mary,. to live a perfect life and to die for the sins of the world. He rose from the dead. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and one day he will return to judge the world. Repent and believe in Christ, call upon his name, and ask him to forgive you sin and heal you. God will give you faith to believe and he will heal your mind and heart. Turn to him. Then he will fill your heart with love and give you understanding to overcome lies. Please visit this link:

What a great question! I look forward to hearing all the answers.

But why would you want to believe in God again? What is it that you think you're missing? I think you should focus more on this question. Every religion in the world, whether its Christian, buddhist, or whatever (hmmm... except satanist? - who knows) are all in search of what is good. That is the question that is in all their minds. Perhaps, you are not looking for a religion. You are looking for goodness.

From your question, it seems that you are objective enough to find this goodness without being trapped in the ideas of people who came before you. You can most certainly take those ideas that you believe work, and you can definitely ask questions to take you even further. Good luck!

well look at it this way... if there isn't a God then you have nothing to lose in not believing, but if there is a god and you don't believe in him... well you'll be missing out on a lot of stuff... he might as well be a kid playing with an ant farm called earth... or he could have gone on vacation that seventh day after creation and not returned... but what if he is here? what if God isn't a supreme being that knows it all? what if God is a life force that lives in us... that just needs to be listened to and taken care of? what is God is that little voice in our head that tells us when we should do the right thing? Honestly id really prefer my chances in believing God exists, its just that he is misunderstood.

By your wording I gather you are probably an agnostic theist instead of an atheist - you believe, but not completely and want to 100% believe as you may have once did.

I urge you to not be so quick to go back. Take into account WHY you drifted away from how you used to be. You may realize that not believing in something that has no evidence is the right way to live. Ask yourself why you want to completely believe again in a god - which god - and what good will come out of it. Weigh the pros and the cons. Seriously. You may surprise yourself in the end.

The rich young man came to Jesus saying, "Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus then told him. The young man said that he had kept all of these things since his youth but still asked, "What yet is lacking?" Jesus then said, "If thou wilt be perfect then go and sell all that thou hast and give it to the poor and come and follow me". After hearing this the young man went away very sorrowful for he had much. The young man wasn't willing to depart with what he valued most. Jesus knew this. He gave the young man something to work on. Hopefully the young man was able to finally make Christ his most prized possession.
For me to help my faith I try to keep Jesus on top in my life. When things come between God and I then I make the decision (even if it will hurt) to get it out of the picture.

First and most importantly, I suggest you pray to God for understanding.

Next, I would suggest you talk to someone who's faith you admire. Maybe that person can answer some of the questions you have or at least point you in the right direction.

I'll be praying for you.

Congratulations - you're free!

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
