I recently got a Japanese chin/chihuahua mix and he is doing very well with my spoiled cat. However, the cat is more of the problem. The cat will chase and try to corner and swat the dog. But they are getting better with time.

Just remember to continue to give the cat some attention. Its similar to bringing a new baby home. When the cat sees he is still getting attention, he will be fine. Lay the boundaries down from the beginning! As Cesar Milan would say, boundaries and limitations!

American bulldogs and beagles. Too bad you are looking for smaller dog, because Great Danes are sooooo loveable and carefree.

BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOGS!!!!

They are GREAT dogs ... we have one. She gets along with anything and wouldn't hurt you NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. I DEFINITELY suggest this breed.
