No it is not a sin to eat meat that is not halal, in the Bible God showed the apostle peter, a sheet of various foods, saying to Him take eat, what the Lord has called righteous let not man say it is not.

i dont know what halal means but in christianity eating any meat is legal and fair game

If you did it on purpose knowing it was not halal then yea, but 1 sin will not condemn you to hell. Redeem yourself and you'll be fine.
