I bought a car at Chicago on September, 2006.
Then, I applied to transfer about the car title in Chicago and I came to Florida in late October.
But, I didn't receive the title until now.
I'm going to sell a car in Florida in February.
But, I don't have the title.
I can't go to chicago.
I called them. But they said we sent you your title.

help me~~.

(I just changed my driver license to Florida.
And the other thing about a car didn't change to Florida.)

Contact the IL Secretary of State's office and request that a duplicate title application be sent to you at your Florida address.

Fill it out and mail it in with the required fee, and they will send you a duplicate title.

See this link for the address, and phone numbers.

If you don't get the title in the mail you can go to Fla. DMV and apply for a lost tiltle..If you get the title in the mail then you can sell it using that title and the person you sell it to can apply for a title in Fla.

If you have to apply for the lost title there in Fla.,it may take a few weeks because they will have to research the VIN # to see if it has any leins on the title..

Hope this helps as I'm not real sure i understood your question 100%.

I had the same thing only Kansas to Texas. You need a bonded title. Depending on what the car is worth will depend on your price for the title. You go to a insurance company and ask them if they do bonded titles only some car insurance company's do. You go to 2 dealers get apprasial values and go back to the title office. Good luck you'll need it

the only solution to this is to apply for a lost title,,you can get tone in one business day,,but the bad part of it,,is you,ll have to do it in the state where it was first issued, there is no way around this,,and it cant be done over the phone,,it has to be done in person,,so looks like you,ll be visiting Chicago again,,but that's the only way you can handle this matter,,good luck hope this help,s.,,PS you might be able to call, and give them some personal information, and get them to do this over the phone,,but it will still be a week or so before you get it,,good luck.
