Only use salon products, cheap shampoos tend to leave a waxy build up, and you have to use twice as much to get the hair clean. Next, use a clarifying shampoo like Back to Basics grapefruit, or Kenra's Clarifying Shampoo. Most people only use these one or two times per week. I am a sufferer of the oily hair and I use it (Kenra's) every day! I use Back to Basics Raspberry Almond conditioner every other time I wash my hair and only on my ends. Keep conditioner away from the scalp. Really rinse your hair don't let any residue remain. Then try blow drying it rather than air drying. Wash your hair every day until you have it under control, then you probably can go to every other day if you want. Clarifying shampoo is also great for cutting through product like hairspray, mousse, gel, pomades, and shine products which can get really built up if you style your hair regularly. Clarifying shampoos also treat chlorine damaged hair. Good luck with the grease, I know what is like, I have always had really oily hair and skin- It took me until I was 17 or 18 to get it under control. Mainly because my sister went to hair school and taught me how to care for it.

If you have already tried using shampoo for oily hair, then try adding baking soda to it. Use equal amounts of baking soda and shampoo, mix together and wash as usual. When rinsing use cool water only. Also, try only washing your hair every other day and not every day...The problem is not the hair being dirty, it is excessive oil. What happens when you wash it every day is the hair is striped of its natural oil, some people's over compensate and this causes a pattern and leads to greasy hair.

you need to change shampoos & minimize or eliminate other products. try a teatree shampoo & conditioner. then, try not to use much or any other products.
as for the second question... it takes all kinds... plus, people are way gross since it is online & not in person...

Wash it more often and switch shampoos. Sometimes your shampoo can cause a build-up.
