Why do I believe? For so many reasons that can't be explained. But for you, I'll try.
-Because of the colors of the sunset, and that I believe that that kind of beauty couldn't have happened on accident.
-Because there's got to be something more, right? Because this life, this world, just isn't....satisfying. You live, you die...and then what? Nothing? It just can't be!
-Because the odds are on my side. Think about it:
Is it really easier to believe that the sound of a child's laughter is just some....accident? That we have the ability to think, and act, and believe, and speak, and write, and know....is just...a fluke?
-Because if I'm wrong--which I'm not--then so what? I was wrong. I guess nothing happens. If you're wrong--you've got an eternity of Hell waiting for you, and you have nothing to do about it once you're there. Either way, I win. If I'm wrong....(so not happening) I win. If I'm right...double win. A thousand lifetimes in Paradise.
-FAITH
-Because I know that the way I feel when I talk to my God, and when I worship Him isn't just some stupid feeling. It's bigger than anything I've ever known and anything to come. It's a mixture of happiness and disbelief and complete and utter joy and thankfulness.
I hope that helped....Godbless...

What I believe is not considered a religion to me it's considered to be a personal belief. Christ often spoke out against the religious leaders in his day. Often I find that the church of today is nothing like the church in the time of Christ.

It's mainly because there are way too many denominations that define Christianity very differently and often because of that it becomes more watered down so people are confused by what truly is christian.

There are many churches out there all over the world that profess to be christian. Just because they say they are christian doesn't mean any thing unless they are born again and have the indwelling of the holy spirit.

A true believer also believes that the bible is their road map to life. The truth is simple those who follow Jesus are truly christian. It's by the way that they talk and their actions. Christians believe that they are saved by grace.

Another thing is that true christians do not take away from what the bible teaches even if it would seem more of a convience for them. They stand by the truth of word of God and they do not alter the bible or it's message.

Those who follow Jesus will have the fruits of the Holy Spirit which makes them different from those who do not have the fruits. True Christians believe in the whole bible and what it teaches.

Another thing is Christians will go through trials and hardships because they follow Jesus and not the what the world believes.

I believe in the trinity and have believed in that because that is what the spirit of God showed me as being apart of the truth. Religions will say something different to that and some may agree.

God's word is a love letter to all of humanity.

Jesus Christ totally changed my life - for the good.
I was born again, 36 years ago, when I didn't know such a thing was possible.
I was a constant liar - I instantly stopped my lying.
I was an habitual thief - I gave up my thieving
I was foul-mouthed and a blasphemer - I stopped that day and have not spoken that way for 36 years
I hated God, blaming Him for all my problems - I realized He was not the problem - I was the problem.
I used people; even to the point of being sexually abusive - I started loving people as I loved myself.
I had no hope; no confidence that everything would turn out OK - Now I know God loves me and has good plans for my life.
I had no peace in my innermost being - Now I have great peace, and nothing makes me afraid.
I was a drinker, a smoker, used pot, LSD, speed, and anything else I could get my hands on. I have no need for any of these things and have been free for many years.
I was extremely selfish - Now I give around 25-30% of my net income away to promote the gospel and help the needy, and have done this for many years, yet I am debt free and in no need.
I have blessings upon blessings in my life - but I attribute it all to the grace I found in Jesus Christ - when one day God spoke into my heart saying "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins" He really did, and I've loved Him ever since.

I go to a christian school, but I don't believe everything I'm taught. It's important that you don't follow a religion just because you're told to by you're parents or a priest or whoever. Everyone needs to have their own personal aspect on the hard questions in life without outside influence from others.

Bottom line: I don't necesary believe in one religion, because I have pieced together many different views from different religions to comprise what I believe to be true. I don't want to be like everyone else so this is my way of being different.

well i am not religious, i am spiritual. I don't give a crap for "buying ur way into heaven," or that gay ppl are going to hell. Personally i believe that there is a higher power whom i call god and jesus christ. Jesus christ was a live person and why else would someone during a time of terror come out and say they were the son of christ if it wasn't true? Think about it, he didn't want anything...so clearly he was someone spiritual. Also, most of the time ppl believe in religion because it gives them faith and hope to live on. And when they make mistakes, it's easier to blame others!

I prefer to use the term agnostic- as I would like to believe that there is some possibility that I'm wrong about the absence of a greater presence. I never fell for all the religious crap even as a kid. The bible is a folk tale told to keep people in control. More people have died in the name of one god or another than could ever be counted.

Very interesting question! And i believe that you're having a moment in your life , very important, when you ask yourself this kind of question!
I , myself do that all the time! And you can't imagine what is feels like....or there a slight chance of knowing!:))
To give you the answer that will satisfy you...i need a few week of writing...and yahoo.com would not allow me to write that much.
Your real issue is....knowing what to choose in life: should i go this way, or the other way? should i do that or not?what's the right thing to do in this situation? and so on....I myself...don't believe in God.....but...a very big "but"......i hope from all my heart that exists!!!!!!!!! And i hope you understand me....because if you don't....then i'll have to write you townsendz of pages!

When I was a child, I felt the presence of God, even though I wasn't really aware of who it was at first. I was taken to church as a child and believed in God and His son, but that's about all I knew. Much later in life I was taken to a good bible teaching church, and in the course of time, started studying the bible. I came to recognize who it was that had been with me when I was a little girl; and in the ten years I have been studying the bible, I've come to believe it is what it claims to be: given by inspiration of God.

I don't believe in my religion. Religion will send a person to hell. They make up too many man made rules. Believing in Jesus will get me to heaven. I am Baptist. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I go to church to worship Him. To give Him the praise, and to lift each other up with kindness. He said where two or three are gathered in His name there He is in the midst.

I do not believe in a religion.
I believe in Jesus Christ.
religion "per se" is of very little importance.
what is important is YOUR personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
don't get hung up on "religion".
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
