This guy in my class at college gave me his number when I gave him my notes. He told me to call him because he wanted to get together to study. He has met me at the bar on a few occassions and returned my calls. I am not sure if he is just being friendly or if he wants something more. The last time we met he mentioned jokingly about me going to my place. He is in his twenties and I am forty. How will I know for sure?

I don't know but don't make a big deal out of it and look bad if he does not want anything more than to study with you or maybe just talk to someone a little older and wiser. Just be careful.

Well...if you bring him over and he whips out the books and goes over notes, then it's about studying.
If he starts approaching you close, while studying, and starts making the moves on you, it's definitely something more.
