Get to know who the man was and what He did. If you agree with that, and believe He did that, then you have accepted Him.

If you are convicted within your heart of sin, then repent of them.
That is to be sorry about them and to decide to change, to turn our life around. Ask Him to forgive you for them and ask Him to show you the way. Make Him your Lord and Savior. Then He will forgive your sin, and you will begin a new life with Him. Many call this experience being "born again".

You repent of your sins and you ask Jesus to be your savior. It helps if you do it with someone you trust. You don't have to do it in church. Just tell Jesus your sorry. Ask Him to forgive you. Then tell Him you want to surrender your life to Him and no longer serve sin but serve Him. We are either God centered or self centered. I'm either serving my own nature which is to sin or I'm serving Christ. Hope you decide to serve Christ. He's the best. He loves you and He is all you could ever imagine He is. I love Him more all the time.

First you have to admit that you are a sinner, that in your life you have sinned. You have to feel repentance for your sin and a desire to live a godly life. Jesus died on the cross to pay for those sins you committed. If you ask God to forgive you, and believe that Jesus is the son of God who died on that cross for you and rose again, you tell God that you desire for Him to be your Lord and savior.

That is the first step in a new life. Then you will want to find out about the life God would have you lead, and that is discovered by reading His word, in the bible.

You don't accept Him. The Holy Spirit baptizes you into His body when you believe that He died for your sins. 1 Corinthians 12: 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12: 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

1. I must realize that in my present condition I am a sinner bfore God. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3.23.)
2. I cannot save myself from eternal punishment in hell "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord: (Romans 6:23)
3. Christ has paid for my sins and my punishment with His death on the cross. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus should not perish, but have everlasting life: "(John 3:16)
4. I must accept His crucififixion as payment for my sins, personally. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13)
If you would like to have assurance of eternal life, then pray this prayer: "Lord, I know I am a sinner. I believe Your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of my sins and make me a new person. I commit my life to you today. Amen,"
If you prayed this prayer you can send for Dr. Stanley's booklet, "The Only Door to Heaven." www.intouch.org.
When you are saved, you are sealed with God's Holy Spirit for eternity. You cannot loose your salvation because you are now adopted into the family of God.
It is important to find a bible teaching church and become part of the body of Christ to help you grow in your walk with the Lord. Read the Bible daily. You will find it easier to understand if you read it with a daily devotional magagine such as The Daily Bread or In Touch by Dr. Charles Stanley, which is on line at the above web site. Set at time aside daily to talk to God in prayer. Your prayers should include 1. Affirmation of God's character, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. (ACTS). If your church is a bible teaching church, they should practice believers baptism. You should be baptized out of obedience to Christ, but it is not required before salvation, but should be done after you become a believer.

You don't, and that's Biblical. You RECEIVE Him through the action of the Holy Spirit in your heart. The act is God's not yours, it doesn't have to be pondered for your approval.
