You DO NOT need to put down your happy puppy. Honey, that what dogs do. The toys they like the best don't last very long. It's perfectly normal. (and I work with dogs) There is nothing wrong with your dog.

Nothing is wrong. It is natural. I have a 7 year old yorkie named Barker and he does the same thing. Dogs have ways of taking their aggression out and that is just one way. He knows that he cannot hurt the stuffed toys so that is why he only does it to those things. To save money I would buy stuffed toys at a Goodwill or Salvation army b/c he would go through so fast. Do not put him down. He just is wants to be aggressive and feel like a badass with his stuffed animals. Barker sometimes will even suck on his stuffed animals thinking he is sucking on his mom. As long as he is not doing it to your couch or anything else he will be fine. Just make sure he always has a toy to do this to.

There's nothing wrong with your dog except he's an animal and animals do things humans don't understand. I have two dogs. One loves his plush little bunny rabbit and sleeps with it. My other dog loves to rip plush animals to shreds and any chance she gets she will destroy a stuffed toy. It's just an instinct for some dogs to pull fluff out.

Your dog would probably do better with harder chew toys, like a Kong. It will keep him busier longer and make him happier.

If it's something that really bothers you, ask your vet about it.

Okay, I don't have this breed, but I have a Dachshund that is the same way with stuffed toys... and he can shred even the extra durable ones. I know with my breed, they have a strong prey drive and is the reason ours does this.

In our case, we just can't give him the stuffed toys, and have to even watch closely with a tennis ball, as he takes off the fabric there too.

Consider more durable toys, such as kongs stuffed with treats to keep your pup busy and only allow the stuffed animals when you can monitor and make sure they don't get pulled apart.

It seems such as you have a dominance undertaking. The puppy desires to study that the different canines is alpha. she will have the potential to in no way understand this in case you retain them separate. do not scold the older canines for telling the puppy whats what the two. this could in undemanding terms reason resentment. If the puppy is bothering the grownup, scold her, she's decrease in prestige and desires to study her barriers. it may look that the puppy is being candy and stunning, yet needless to say the older canines disagrees. In canines words she is being pushy and dominate. while the puppy finally gets the element your older canines will in all probability come around and optimistic will play together with her. Are your canines spayed? If not this could grow to be an argument while one lady or yet another comes into season. In a canines %. in undemanding terms the alpha lady breeds and that they are going to in lots of situations time combat for this suitable, despite if the alpha is easily conventional. I fairly recommend spaying the two for behavioral besides as scientific reasons.

He likes it! Its fun to gut stuffies. Mine rip the guts out of every stuffie available and chew off their eyes. Its a prey/predator thing- especially if the stuffie has a squeaker.

You could check out toys made by the Fat Cat Toy Company. They are really good and indestructable stuffies.

could be he is just not liking those toys any more. and to stop him from doing that just do not buy him any toys like that. the fluff is a bad thing for a dog to chew on. he may be taking his anger out on the toy because there have been a change in his life and he is up set about it.

That is completely normal for young Malteses. Just take it away when he starts to rip it up, and reward him when he doesn't. My Maltese lived to be 16, and they are great dogs. Good luck!

So your dog rips stuff. Get busy, start walking your dog, maybe long walks. Get him chew toys, maybe some treats. Thats a good start.

I believe whenever a good dog acts up he/she is trying to tell you something - usually it's "I'm bored". Try extra attention and soft music and /or quiet talk radio in the back ground when you are gone.
