It's better to do it in person. I know it's easier to ask online, but I did that a few months ago and the girl didn't know how to answer. She never gave me an answer and things got wierd. It's not that she didn't like me,it is just she didn't know how to take it. You better make a conversation and try to get away from the online thing. I know from experience.

Say you enjoy talking to her online and if it wouldnt be too much if I could have your number so I could talk to you over the phone. Just be honest with her. The worse she can say is no.

ask her what is your phone's company name, mine is wireless(for example) , I pay $15 per month,and then when she answer u , she will ask u for ur phone number, if she didnt change the subject, but trust me that will help a lot if u ask her something about phone copany
