shoes are the problem, ask the other veteran waiters there what they wear and go with that. I wore Doc Martins for most of my serving career, they last a long time and provide decent support.

If you don't want answers, don't ask questions. For most of us big toes going numb and painful are a sure sign of shoes being too short. Another cause is toenails that are too long and need trimming.

The steel to is rubbing against your toe - even though the size may be correct the steel may be bent and causing the irritation. Try a pair 1/2 size larger with slightly thicker socks and a good arch support that should fix the problem. Good Luck!

you may not realize it but for your job you have to be able to wear the type of shoes that allow your feet to do waiter work--like runners wear running shoes-they wouldn't wear heels, etc. Numb toes need shoes that have extra padding since you stop and srart frequently as not to tip over

Hopefully you dont have long toenals because that would definatly cause some damage as a waiter. Make sure you are wearing shoes that are not too snug. you need room to walk in with a job like that.

No they don't, customers flirt just to see how far their server will go with it. If the server is a good sport about it they might get a bigger tip.

Your feet swell to a larger size because you are on your feet all day. Buy shoes at least one size larger. Try them on after you have finished work before buying to make sure they fit your swollen feet.
