i really love my bf but he cuts when he thinks about his dad and his dad is in jail and he cares a;ot about him and he says he cares more about me than his life and he says he wants to spend the rest of his life w/ me but i think if he loved me that much that my love could keep him from doin that but it dosent and he says that all he needs is me and my love and he would be ok but he still dose!!!!!I LOVE HIM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH and i cry thinkin that when im not w/ him or on the phone w/ him he is cuttin himself!!!i cry all night cuz im worried and mad so wat can i do ????HELP

Then tell him, that everytime he cuts himself he cuts your heart, tearing you all apart that you want him to stop it. Make sure to instill your love in him every chance you get. Does he see you cry about him if not let him see how you feel about it don't hide it if he sees that it hurts you just as bad he will start to change if he loves you enough.... When he goes to kiss you let him know your hurt by what he did that you love him but your not going to kiss him if he does that. make him choose wether to get love from you or cut himself.

You sound quite young and I wonder if you and your b/f are getting all the support from family and healthcare workers that you will need to get through this. Mental illness (for that is what your b/f is suffering from) does not affect just the patient but also those nearest and dearest to him. You sound like you are at your wits' end trying to keep him safe from harming himself but this is not your responsibility. You cannot go on living like this - he must seek help to deal with his self-harming and he must show you that he is at least trying to keep himself safe, otherwise, you really cannot stay with him. If you carry on bearing the burden of his problems then you will burn yourself out and be no good to anyone. Think about it.

Honey he is in crisis and he needs help asap. All the love you have in the world won't save him unless he saves himself. You may want to suggest that he talks to a counselor but you can't make him go if he won't. Please tell him you care and love him but he needs to stop the self destructive behavior. It will not get his dad out of jail. Does he ever visit his dad? Maybe that could help depending if the dad is in a good state of mind.

I'm sorry honey but this relationship is not healthy and if he is going to do something bad it really doesn't matter if your ther or not.he's depressed and needs help and if you really love him you will help him by getting him help this is so serious there no future in this .love him enough and if you can use that love that he has for you to save his life because you know his problem its in your hands.you can either save him or lose him its up to you to at least try.

he may have other deep rooted problems. he sounds like he needs professional psychological help
