If this man is your fiancee, and he can't talk about kids.... ahhh, wake up and smell the coffee! And he already has one kid, and has nothing to do with it??? My question: what are you doing with him? Run, don't walk, out the door and don't look back!
If you can see yourself with children in the next ten years, then you need to dump this loser now. There are plenty of mature men out there who not only want, but adore their kids. Don't become yet another divorce statistic with a non-existent Dad for your kids, move on and find someone decent.

Some do and some don't. If it's important to you then he needs to tell you yes no or if he is unsure before you get married. Kids can be a deal breaker in many relationships so you really need some sort of answer before you tie the knot. My husband thought he never wanted kids. Now he has two step children and a daughter of his own.

Well, once you have a baby- that baby grows up, calls you mother- and you are mother for LIFE! Having a baby, raising a child is very time consuming, and takes over your life. Maybe your fiancee doesn't want all that involvement. You need to get a straight answer from him. Also, think about you taking care, worrying about that child all your life. Not trying to scare you- but it's reality.

I guess I am in the minority. Because I like kids.
When I go to the movies, I take my wife, our son, her sister's two kids, her sister too. Many times we also take 1-3 of my son's best friends (and their moms come along, too), and we do the same thing when we take 1-3 day vacations to Orlando. We take all the kids, the moms, and I have a GREAT time with being all of them. I think kids are great.
When I take photos, and take them to work, everyone looks at me like I am crazy to be with all those kids, and worse, all those women. So I have to say that the majority of men, and some women, think kids is not a good thing to be around.

Some men want kids and others don't. It really depends on the type of man you have. He may enjoy his freedom and only want to be responsible for himself. That may just be a phase. He could just not be ready for kids right now. He may change his mind later on in his life.
Hope this helps

Some men want kids to influence and impact the future, and for the great experiences that come with being a dad.

Some men are completely unemotional, and could care less about their kids, but those are a very rare few. Most men, myself included love kids, I play a very active role in my children's life. Most of the other dads I know feel the same.

I wants kids. Trouble is I don't want to get married. It's a lot easier for a single woman to start a family than a single man.

Some do, but many don't. If you can't get a firm answer and it's important to you, get away from this guy NOW. The fact that he already has one child which he doesn't spend time with is *NOT* a good sign.

Uhm kind of a big issue to be getting the runaround on with someone you plan on marrying!!
Not to mention the fact that he has a kid already and has nothing to do with that kid. There's your answer: He doesn't want any kids.
Any man that can leave their kid high in dry is a waste. I'd move on.
