My fiance has a brother who is about 14...a bit young for a groomsman, but we dont want him to be excluded. He is a bit shy to be an usher...is there an equivelent to a junior bridesmaid for boys?

ask HIM what he would want it to be called then.

Um, WHAT makes him too young to be a groomsman?

ONLY if YOU want him there, that's all it takes,..........!

I've seen boys that age (and some younger) be bell ringers where they ring a bell and shout "The Bride is coming!" But since he is shy, I doubt he would want to do this.

I don't think he is too young to be a regular groomsman or usher. BC he is shy, you don't have actually have him DO anything. Just give him a boutonniere and put his name in the program and let him off the hook!

Junior Groomsmen. If you have Jr. Bridgesmaids I don't see what the big deal is. He's obviously too old for a ring bearer. You can probably find something for him to do like passing out programs or something. But i'd just make him a groomsman.

Yes, a junior groomsman.

I don't think 14 is too young to be a groomsman. Maybe if you make him a groomsman, he'll feel more appreciated. Appreciated in the sense that he's being taken seriously to be an 'important' part of his big brother's wedding.

That would be an "Usher"... or you can have him be involved in an unofficial way like at the reception to go around and sell tickets for your prizes you give away...just a thought!

Congrats on your coming nuptials!

Hello =)

Give him a "special Usher's job" of seating the mother of the Bride, and the Mother of the Groom.... Mother of Groom gets seated first, of course....Mother of Bride is last person seated before procession......

Since they get seated last, and it is a role of some honour, he'll feel special, and not have to deal with all the drama of dealing with the "general public".....

Namaste,

--Tom

Yes, I am not sure what they are called but my cousin had my sister as a junior brides maid and one of our cousins (about 15) who walked down the aisle with her
