Light is reflected or absorbed. Your shirt is blue because it is (reflecting) transmitting blue and absorbing other colrs (wavelebgths of light. Plant extracts are rich in chlorophyll that absorbs blue around 475 nm and red (675 nm), as well as other pigments that absorb blueother pigments. Chlorophyll and plant extracts reflect green (525 nm) and so appear green to us.
