She rarely does this. She was in all night and had not eaten recently but she was cleaning her fur a lot. Does cleaning her fur cause this? Otherwise she seems fine. I should have paid attention when she pushed her nose againt my neck to notify me to let her out.

The "yellow liquid" is called bile.

It's basically stomach acid, which means that she didn't have anything in her stomach.

It happens occasionally.

I wouldn't be alarmed unless it happens a few more times. Watch her behavior... see if she's acting sick or lethargic. If it continues, you might want to take her to the vet on Monday.

Sounds like stomach bile.
Try to get her into the vet Monday morning, but in the meantime...

If she hasn't eaten, give her a small amount of BOILED chicken and rice (mild on the stomach and easy to digest). In the morning increase the amount. If she keeps that down, in the afternoon give her 1/2 chicken & rice with 1/2 her normal food.

If she hasn't eaten anything then it's just stomach fluides and she had a some hair scratch her throat the wrong way which made her throw up. It's nothing major, but I would recommend getting her groomed on a regular basis

Usually this will happen if a dog is fed later than usual. The stomach gets all geared up for mealtime and then appears to need to get rid of some of it if the meal doesn't come. If your dog was fed later than usual tonight, that's almost certainly the cause and is nothing to worry about.

When dogs throw up, their stomach naturally surrounds the food with strange murky gooey yellow liquid before throwing it up. She probably just was throwing up normally. You need to see if she ate anything strange the days before she threw up. Or, her stomach might just be having a few digestion issues.

it is probably stomach acid from eating her fur. It is nothing major, but if it keeps happening take her to the vet to see what could be causing this.

She could be eating something bad for her in the backyard or the garbage. Have you switched to new dog food recently? Maybe the kind you're feeding her, she is allergic to. What kind of dog is she?

Your dog *yarked*
This is normal. If you wiped up the puke with a napkin, look at it and I am sure it is full of fur.

This is normal.

That's stomach acid.

Our dog will do this if she hasn't eaten (she want OUR food ... not her own) so she'll throw up acid before she eats her own food.
