im told they are caused by stress, good mouth hygiene is a way to prevent them, and the best treatment is Abreva, u can buy it at any drugstore, somewhat expensive but it works!

One of the herpes viruses.... prevention is difficult at best... treat with over-the-counter lip balmes specific to cold sores.

cold sores are viruses, a type of herpes called herpes simplex, one normally gets `em on the cold season hence name , preventions is taking your vitamins
