"The bible says that you shouldn't marry or have boyfriends that are unbelievers because what in common does the light have with the dark?"
or
"and what communion hath light with darkness?"

Ying is balanced by yang. This is how true harmony arises.

The brightest light can only been determined when joined with the
darkest of darkness. (or you need dark to see light)

Do they mean that athiesm is darkness and christianity the light?

How about the religous view being the darkness (accepting dogma without question) and athiesm the light, and hence illumination through logic, reasoning and empirical observation = enlightenment??

Sadly, the lack of love between believers and non-believers [or those with 'false beliefs'] is one of the greatest excuses for war, hate and violence in the world. How about considering that not everything in the bibal should not be taken literally (and hopefully look for areas of bibal content which is self-contradictory).

May i suggest you find a way to keep religion out of the relationship, but dont hide those aspects of yourself, beliefs are an integral part of both your characters. I hope you both just find a way to develop mutual respect for each others beliefs and ideals, and things are more likely to work out.

Well, i wish you both the best of luck and happiness. I liked the use a condom suggestion. Please try to understand one another too.

I was an atheist when I hooked up with a Christian, also online. It's been quite interesting and life changing. Good luck to you.

You two should be fine as long as you KEEP your beliefs to yourselves .People of different faiths, colors ,races and cultures can fall in love and still be who they ARE.
My parents came from opposite religions and had 3 great kids and 30 years of happy marriage before my Mom died .
