Don't worry.
Some women's breasts are harder to read on a first mammogram than others. My mother has gone in for these several times and has never found out she had cancer. However, they sometimes show cysts or lumps that could eventually become cancerous and the doctors will then follow up with you on that if that's the case. IF it is the case, simple out-patient surgery is required and the recovery process is all of a day.

Just make sure to schedule the appointments and ask your doctors all the questions you need to.

They will probably want to repeat the mammogram to compare and of course do comparison with others you have had. It COULD be cancerous. If there is probability they will schedule a breast biopsy to be sure (usually done while you are awake in the xray department, if it can not be reached then surgery may be necessary). Don't freak out to bad until they give ya a reason...Good Luck!

Calcifacations are hard areas? Look into webmd and plug in words but they want to do a sonogram for a better view of the dense breast mass or tissue...they are only being thorough and sonograms are more definitive if anything were wrong...

They are reccommending you have an ultrasound. Calcium deposits and fibro cysts are common. The dense marks mean your breasts are too dense to be able to see clearly so they will need the ultrasound to see better. Its a safety precaution for you so they can make sure your okay. I have the same and had a biopsy of a calcium deposit after the ultrasound but since my breasts are so dense they had to insert a wire before the biopsy in order to guide them to the 'spot' they wanted to test. It was uncomfortable but with the numbing shots plucking my eyebrows are worse. Try to stay calm and make sure to take all the tests to ensure your okay. Good luck.

I would not be worried about it. It sounds like a radiologist reading for a mammorgram. I nurse, and if you have a suspicious lesion on a mammorgram, you are the 1st to know.
They are just double checking your breast.

to sum it up your mamo was not normal and they seen something that think MAY be cancer and want you to come back for a follow up. It is just routine.
