According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a consumer may obtain 1 free credit report each year from each of the 3 bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union). So you don't have to worry about paying for it.

You can get your credit score from credit bureaux e.g Equifax etc, if you are in the USA. Just make a request and they will try to verify your details and identity. Once they are satisfied that you are the person you say you are, they send you your credit report, which includes your credit score to your address.

go to www.freecreditreport.com and get your credit report. when you give them your email address they will start emailing you with ads to sign up for their services. you will also have to give your email address to the three credit agencies. after a while they (or one of the three credit agencies, i can't recall) will email you an offer to see your credit score, in the hopes that you sign up with a service that allows to continually check your credit score without charge. that's how i found out my score fo' free!
if you try to take out credit you can usually find it out, like if you go to the bank to get a loan. but don't do it just to find out the score.

None give you the actual score without charging you but if you just want to see your credit report to check for errors, use freecreditreport.com.

I dunno, but if you get a Washington Mutual (formerly Providian) credit card, they automatically show you your score on a monthly basis.
