Do you think diet soda is any less bad for you? So many news reports have said they are neurotoxins, and that people who drink diet are actually heavier. What do you think the truth is?

I think the regular ones with real sugar are better. If you get the ones in the 6 ounce cans it makes you think you finished one and you won't drink as much. Either way, I really doubt either will do harm, in moderation.

I have often wondered why you see skinny people drinking regular soda drinks and heavier people drinking diet sodas. I can't say it is gospel, but I have heard reports that the body cannot decifer between artificial sweetners and actual sugar so it raises its insulin levels for either one. I have also heard that people who drink regular soda actually eat fewer solid calories. Like I say, I don't know what the honest truth is, but that is what I have heard. I am so used to diet soda that I don't like the taste of regular soda, however, I am heavy too. So there ya go. The truth is it scares the heck out of me how heavy I would be if I drank regular soda. Of coarse, one thing we can be sure of is that we would all be better off not to drink soda at all, diet or otherwise. There are also studies that suggest that the carbonation and caffiene interfere with the way the body processes fats and protiens. From personal experience, I lost 13 lbs in a month just by not drinking soda and drinking more water and tea.

Diet Soda: the chemicals that are in the soda can also clean your car, remove grease and blood stains around the house. Plus the saccarine levels in diet soda causes liver damage as well.

Regular Soda: Has way too much High frutoce corn syrup which is a man made replacement for the real stuff. This stuff causes cloged ateries and a blanket of fat around your mid-section.

Sodas have way too much acid in it that causes your pores to become bigger as you age. Who wants to look older than they really are. Plus it eats up your esophagus as well.

If you really need to have a soda. Try Seltzer water with a twist of lime. that works really good. Also "lemon ginger tea" it's good for digesting heavy, greasy foods that we eat most of the times.

Diet ones have a lower calorie content, like coke has around 260 calories in it, but diet coke actually has only 10. Yet apparently there are neurotoxins in it. Which are harmful to us and many other animals.

I don't drink diet drinks because I am concerned about all the chemicals necessary to process them and the artificial sweeteners. I drink a regular soda when I want one, but I just try to limit my consumption, because I don't think either one is nutritious.
