"The name Lambrusco is derived from the latin word labrusca or lambrusca, meaning wild vines because they grew spontaneously and plentifully long before the days of the Ancient Romans. "

I like this wine a lot as well. It's a nice wine to sip and have a nice chat with friends!

Lambrusco is the name of the grape variety that the wine is made from.

Many Italian wine labels have the name of the grape variety togther with the place it was grown, such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (variety Montepulciano from Abruzzo) and the Riunite label says Lambruso Emilia, i.e. Lambrusco grape grown in Emilia.

In fact there are several varieties of Lambrusco, namely Lambrusco Marani, Lambrusco Salamino, Lambrusco Maestri, and Lambrusco Montericco which are used in Riunite.

Lambrusco is not the same as the Lambrusca grown in the Eastern United States which is the name for a different species of grape vine, of which Concord is a variety
