dated a good friend, and grew apart while you were dating? i just got out of a relationship where we both figured we should break up because we thought we were closer before we started dating.

No because that is what dating is all about. You date and if you can live together meaning, you can stand one another and spend your whole life with this person, then you move on to the other stages.

I have never dated a friend but i do think that friends do make the best partners because they already know everything about you

yes, the same thing happened to me. turned out that he was a good friend, but a bad boyfriend. it was awkward at first after the break up, but now its just like old times :)

I had one of those relationships and me and him wouldnt talk for a while after that but we share best friends so we kind of have to talk.
