I've begun working out on the treadmill and I've been doing great. But I've been getting uberly bored walking in the same place in my basement. So I began singing while I work out. Is this bad? I begin to be short of breath because I'm practically running and unable to breathe and also sing at the same time. But working out is almost intolerable otherwise. Any ideas as to whether or not this is bad for me health? Any suggestions if it is to make working out more tolerable? TV is not an option and all I have is a tiny mp3 player.

But my main question is, is it bad for me to sing while I work out? It makes it easier for me and I enjoy it more if I do.

breathing properly is very important...you should be breathing heavy, but not winded...i love listening to tunes while i workout! i have my hubby pick out my play list..he just tells me what the cool down song is so i know...then it's a surprise while i'm on the treadmill. makes it fun.

It is very important to breath properly while exercising. Remember, breathing provides oxygen to the muscles. If you are not breathing properly, you will get tired much more quickly, since your muscles will run out of fuel (oxygen).

Music is always a good option if a TV is not available at your gym. You can also try to find a partner to work out with; that makes it a lot less boring.

Good luck!

I guess your best option if you don't want TV, quit singing.
