his mother did. I was the only one to write and send stuff. He got out a little over a year ago, and he barely speaks to me unless he needs something, and we're supposed to be good friends. I don't hang in the streets anymore, and I've went back to church becuz of the birth of my child last year. Do you think that's why he doesn't talk to me becuz of our different life styles now? Should I just cut him off totally, cuz I'm not going to go back to the life I used to live. (Thanks)

You pretty much answered your own question! Sounds to be you've done some growing up! Good for you! Your a mommy now, and it's real good to hear your priorities are in the right place. I think when people are in prison, they'd take anyone for a friend, know what I mean. So, I'd learn from that, and move on!!!! You have a new like going forward-you don't wanna go backwards!!!

I've been in a situation very similar to yours, and cutting him off or not is going to have to be a matter of personal preference. If you think that you shouldn't be friends with him anymore, then you could cut him off. Another alternative is, just not to think about him, let him know that you're there for him emotionally but that you're not physically going to be with him in the streets anymore. Don't support what he needs, but let him know that you are still interested in having a friendship with him.

There could be many reasons why he has distanced himself from you, but by the looks of it...it's probably just the lack of similarities in your lives. I hope it all works out.

Maybe he has a hard time talking to you because you remind him of a bad time in his life. He shouldn't act this way because you were there for him when no one else was. Or it could be because you no longer want to live the lifestyle he does. I would just write him off for now. Maybe someday he will see things your way and you can resume your friendship. If he doesn't it is HIS loss.

There's a reason no one else visited him in prison. Evidently they all have already learned what you are learning now. Go on with your life and put him behind you. He doesn't want anything to do with you except to use you so why would you want him in your life? Congrats for gettting your life on track. Stay on your own path and just don't bother with him anymore.

Yes, you probably ought to move on. I suspect that he really wants to associate with people who DON'T know he was in prison.
If you have changed your life, you seem to indicate a wild streak, then you probably would be better off with people who are unfamiliar with the old you as well.
Good luck.
