i have a "girl-hawk". no, not a faux-hawk...an actual shave-the-sides-off-and-spike-the-middle MOHAWK. i'm not trying to be punk or anything, i just decided to get a mohawk. what's the big deal anyway? it's a freakin HAIR-DO! some of my guy friends called me a poser, and some of them told me i looked hot, and some said it was stupid but they don't care cause it's my head and to do whatever i want with it. i want some input from someone who's NOT one of my friends (yet?) so please answer as honestly as possible!

If you wear it with confidence, it could be hot. Hey, even some of your guy friends said so.

It would have been better if you could have posted a link to some pics.

Very brave and daring of you to do this. Maybe you will get tired of it and shave the rest off. Now THAT would be brave, having a smooth-as-a-baby's-butt complete headshave! You'll probably have to do that at some point in the future when you get tired of the mohawk. In the meantime, go ahead and rock it for all it's worth!

there is a folk band called the "duhks" (pronounced "ducks") and the lead sing is an Indian girl who has a Mohawk. I'm more into 70's rock though. I don't really give a care. There's not that much a different with a girl with a Mohawk another with and corn-rows (to me anyway).

It's definitely a style...and ultimately up to you (we loved 'em at Jam concerts and Siouxsie and the Banshees shows back when).

People often associate style with venues or attitude, but it's just not true. It's just a matter of taste and having fun. Nobody stays with the same hairstyle, clothing, or posture their entire life. Anyone who calls you a poser just doesn't have the wherewithal to try something for themselves. They'd rather stack in the same deck of cards with everyone else.

Have fun!

It can look good on some people. I think they're cool and daring.

well. idk. there shouldn't be any difference between a guy having one opposed to a girl having one. As long as you can flaunt it and FEEL pretty in it... your self assurance will probably lead ppl. to say "hey, that's a pretty good look on her."
