Well there is this guy at my church who I kind of like...but my best friend says he is really wierd...he is cute and really nice, but my friends opinion really matters to me...what should I do?

Sure we all want and value our friends opinion...but if this person is who you like then it shouldnt matter what your friend thinks at all. Cute is always good of course, but if the person is nice and treats you well then that is all that really matters. Get to know the guy for yourself and see exactly what he is all about....you never know, he may not be as weird as you(or your friend for that matter) thinks he is. Never judge one person from anothers opinion on them...You could possibly miss out on something that could be good.
Surely you know the saying "opinions are like a**holes and everyones got one". Well guess what? You also have your own opinion as well...so follow it!

Unless she has some kind of proof of how he is weird, then there is no reason to try to impress her. This is the sort of friend that will screw you out of the potential for a good relationship, if she just makes snap judgements against people but doesnt offer a good reason.

Learn to think for yourself. Is this friend going to be there for ALL decisions you will have to make in your lifetime? Do you ask this friend what you should have for breakfast? And then since you go to church you might want to take into consideration THESE words "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"..."Judge ye not lest ye be judged".

If you really like him then i say you should talk to him. I understand you value your friends opinion, but they're not the ones that want to talk to him, so i say go for it. But still keep your friends in mind, and let them know u really want to talk to this guy.

Weird is a matter of opinion. Ask for specifics so you know what is meant. It is possible that one persons weird is another persons normal.

I really think that you should get to know him and judge for yourself about whether he is wierd....just because your friend thinks that dowsn't mean you will think the same thing....

first of all are you always going to make sure your friend approves guys for you? hun, grow up! there's always gonna be someone out there who don't like whoever for whatever reason. and if you don't watch it you'll be back on here sayin ''me and my friend like the same guy''

What might be weird to your friend might not be weird to you. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose than a few hours.
