what are you, Christians, do to recognise him?
the logical thing to assume is that he will come as he already did in the past (born in a poor family and fighting against the established system) so how are you gonna believe is him?
or do you think he will come flying and perfroming miracles for you to know is him?

hahaha... your logic fails you! He isn't going to do the "baby thing" again, it isn't necessary. He told us how he is coming back... read the 1st chapter of Acts; He's coming in the clouds just as He left. He will be coming as a full grown adult Warrior King with a sword of vengeance to smite all His enemies and clean up the earth. He will set up His throne in Jerusalem.

An interesting question indeed. The first time he came, he came, people thought of him as an ordinary village carpenter, or a revolutionary rebel leader, or a threat to their power. Very few people recognised him for what he was.

Before he went back up, Jesus did say some stuff about the manner of his next coming to earth. Other writers in the New testament also say things about it, and all this leads me to expect that it will be quite different.

When Jesus next comes back, his mission will be to save those people alive at that time who can be saved, and destroy all the wicked. It will be a different sort of mission from the one he had when he last visited earth.

He will raise from the grave all those who have died who can be saved, and together with the ones living at that time, he will take all the saved people back up to heaven. As for the enemies of God, they will be slain by the brightness of his coming (2Thess 2:8). As such, it will be a rather obvious and dramatic event. "Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him" (Revelation 1:7).

Jesus warned that his coming would be preeceeded by false prophets and false Christs, sent by Staan to try and deceive people. Some of these would even perform miracles in order to deceive people (Revelation 13:13-14).

However, the fake Messiahs will not come in the same dramatic way as Jesus, with the sky being rolled back like a scroll and evey eye seeing him etc. Jesus said "if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out. If they say, 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man."

Having said all the above, i am mindful that the first time he came, a lot of people were looking for a different kind of Messiah and he did not come the way they expected. Even his own disciples didn't really understand what he was about until after his resurrection, so i may also be wrong.

I guess we will find out when it does happen. In the mean time, God is still giving us time to get to know him and to make up our minds about whose side we want to be on in the war between good and evil, between God and Satan.

I remember an old French film i saw, about a nun and some missionaries set during the French Vietnam war. They go to a village and try to convert the villagers, and then a storm comes and they have to shelter in the villager's houses. When the storm clears, a platoon of French soldiers comes to escort them away, and a Vietnamese villager says to the nun, "iI est temps de choisir vos amis, choissisez-les bien" (It is time to choose your friends, choose them well). The nun and the missionaries choose to go off with the French soldiers and the patrol is ambushed by the Vietnamese and they are all killed.

I am not sure what the point of the film was, but i always think of it when thinking about Christ coming back. It is like the same question is facing us. There is a war going on. It is time to choose which side we are on.

We believe He will return because He said He would while He was on earth, and because the rest of the Bible attests to the fact.

The manner of return is described as well, and he will be unmistakable. A period of intense violence and chaos around the world, mixed with numerous natural disasters and unusual phenomena, and well-detailed developments of socio-political nature, after which Christ will appear in glory with hosts of angels and His human saints, destroy his enemies, and set up a Kingdom on earth, in which He will rule and His followers will serve, to last a millenium until a final confrontation with Satan and his minions both angelic and human, before an eternity of peace and worship.

You wait. I hope I can get on this forum when he does. The only question I will ask and it will be my last is:

Nonbelievers: Did you see that?

He will come in a blaze of glory. He came as a human and is now resurrected so he will not be "born" to a family again. That will be the Antichrist. Ironic isn't it.

God Bless

As a Christian, we read and believe the bible to be the inspired word of God. The first time Jesus came, yes, was humbly. However, the next time He comes, He will come as the Lion of Judah. As the bible tells me that the sheep recognize the voice of their shepherd, I have no worries at knowing Him when He returns.

Your wording for the question may not be appropriate but it does raise questions. It is one question that how will Jesus be recognizable to Christian but there is another question from the perspective of those who believe him a prophet only and not a God and that he was a Masiha for those who accepted his message of the prophethood and lived by its teachings during their life time. That question is as to what will he be looking for after his second coming and will he recognize what he is looking for?
When Jesus makes his second coming, where will he really feel comfortable and feel deja vous (as it was before)? Will he feel comfortable with the Muslim bowing and prostrating their heads in front of God in humble postures on sand, grass, at home, in the mosque, on the road side if allowed with no rituals and ceremonial aids; or in a church with pews, shining clothes, hierarchical rituals with pianos, drums and singing, shining uniforms with colourful stripes for the priests etc `etc . Would not he say “Waw, where did you get all this from?” I never taught this and my people did not do ths! Was my message alone making you so bored to have all this pomp and show with piano and songs?
He may even ask Christians to come along and join their brothers in Jesus who respected him as he was like a human and prophet, and respected his mother by mentioning her (Mary)name in good faith 34 times in the Quran.
Muslim believe in Jesus as a prophet of Islam and also believe in Jesus second coming. So the Muslim then rightfully believe that his second coming will be as a Muslim.

The bible says that as the lightening comes out of the east and shines even into the west, that's how his coming will be. No one is going to miss his return. If someone says it's happened and you don't know it, then it didn't happen.

When the Son of God returns to this earth he will come in ALL His glory and no one living will mistake this event for just another day.
