I haven't worked since my first child was born almost 6 yrs ago. I am going to start work again in about 2 weeks my youngest is almost 4, but I'm ready! So anyway I have no idea what they charge for day care. And if it differs by age of the child or what.
Or if where you live makes a difference, I live in Kansas if it does.

If you know what the average rates are it would be a big help!!!!!!!! Thanks!

At the daycare where I work, I believe it's around $18 for that age. It costs more the younger the child is, because they need a higher ratio of staff to children. But like other people said, you need to look into it ASAP because most good centres are full and you'll be put on a waiting list. You could also try looking into a home daycare.

You need to hit the bookstore and pick up the latest do-it-yourself guide for your province... a lot of information. Perhaps check with the local women's center/women's shelter for legal assistance... they can work on a sliding scale. The guy is a skinflint, and you can collect 1/2 of all assets acquired during those 12 years. Honey... get out there and find ANY job... even if you have to juggle two part-time jobs. You need some money coming in.

I live in Northern CA, I pay 71.50 a wk for 3 full days. I believe cost will depend on where you live and what you are looking for in a daycare facility. My daycare is actually a preschool. First half of the day is all academic the second half is nap and play. I love this type of atmosphere because it is getting him ready for kindergarten

In Denver it's about $750 a month but good places have a waiting list. We waited 6 months to get to our place. You may not be able to find a trustworthy caregiver in two weeks. Start looking ASAP.

if you have a nearby ymca, check out their childcare. a lot of them do daycare now and it's pretty reasonable, they even offer assistance if you cannot afford it. my nephew goes to a y for daycare all day and he seems to like it.
