I have this problem and my hairdresser says it's not uncommon to shed hair especially if there's a hormonal change (period, growth spurt, etc.) or a season change. Stress can do that too. If you're really worried (and it lasts longer than two months) you might want to try some Nioxin shampoo. It's really good for your scalp.

I have also gone through the same thing. Hormones play a big part too. Especially if you are pregnant and after giving birth. I read in a magazine that if you brush your hair before taking a shower you will have less clumps in the shower. I don't know if you can do that very well with frizzy hair. You might want to try a deep conditioning treatment at a salon once a month. Also talk to your stylist about minimizing hair loss. There are some shampoos out there touted as hair strengtheners. They might help you too.

It probably is hormones. I'm 33 and mine still sheds real bad like that from time to time. It always has since about 14 or 15, but I recently started using Horse Mane N Tail shampoo and conditioner, and it doesn't shed that bad anymore with little to NO breakage. Plus, it makes my hair shiny and smooth. You can get it at Wal-Mart or Rite Aid or any drug store or at the www.manentail.com site. Hope this helps.

No---the winter and summer are when we lose the most of our hair---75-100 strands a day!!!!

PLUS, be easy washing your hair, like brushing the tangles out before you wash it, and wash your SCALP and NOT your hair---by putting your shampoo UP UNDER YOUR HAIR and put it on your scalp and shampoo just your scalp.

NO FINGERNAILS __EVER!!

And DO NOT BY ANT CIRCUMSTANCE!!!! BRUSH your hair when it is wet. COMB your hair or youwill pop it off with a brush.
When it is wet, it is very vulnerable and with a brush, it only stretches so far, then KAPOW!! it will break and be a frizzie!

How often do you shower? We lose 100s of hairs a day.. and often they are still wraped around other hairs until you wash it, and scrub them lose. If you don't shower for a few days, these hairs can stay on your head until the next time you shower.

The Chlorine in your tap water is drying out your hair. There is a new shower filter just coming out which is amazing. Its called iWater, and it has ion technology and reduces 99.9% of chlorine. Its only about $40 or $50 bucks. iWater!

I don't think it's hormones, and how much of it is coming out in the shower? if it like a hand full then u might be loosing your hair.

Hair falling out could mean you need a haircut. But it also happens to people with high metabolisms.
