she's told me time and again she doesn't really like horses, bc they're stinky. and i've never asked her to be interested in them. but she reads all the horse magazines we get(we don't own any horses of our own yet), and tells me stuff she's read. how can i thank her for trying to understand my passion for them?

The biggest thank you for her...get involved in something she cares about. My husband and I have this problem too....he is a huge biker, I'm scared of them. I do pay attention though when he talks and I know exactly his dream bike, where he shops and the newest trinkets on the market. I, on the other hand, am huge reader (and he doesn't even read the words in playboy). While he doesn't even listen when I talk to him about the lastest book I'm reading or information I learned....He did know that Les Miserables is my very favorite book and he took me to see it performed in London. It was not only the best gift ever, but also amazing because, for once, it was him paying attention to me.

By telling her, and then showing the same amount of interest in something that she is into and you aren't. Or jewlery and dinner, LOL
