What you are referring to is know as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. There are actually some good sites on the Internet that may be able to help you to decide.

I have had this disorder for years and have not had it treated until recently. It made an incredible difference with being able to focus at school and work as well. I am now successfully working on two degrees concurrently and when I was in school before I could barely make it through one period without driving the teacher and everyone else crazy. Good luck to you.

Those symptoms are not ADD or ADHD. You sound hyperactive but not truely ADD. With ADD you have trouble with your small motor skills such as writing and you can't stay on task. Say you are doing are sentence on a paper for school and someone coughs distracting you a second. When you looked back at your paper you would have no clue where you were on the page. A normal person would know which line they had just been reading and be able to go right back where they left off. ADD people have trouble getting and staying organized too. With ADHD you have all of the signs of ADD plus the inability to sit still and have to constantly be moving. If you cannot find you place in a math problem or when reading or writing etc if something distracts you and have other symptoms then ask to be tested for ADD at a clinic that tests for this.

It takes a professional to really tell. I am a very fidgety person and I am not add or adhd - the medicines for it are very strong so be sure to get professional help not just your family doctor.

That does not sound like ADD or ADHD, it sounds like something much worse.
I have ADD, right now I am 15. Think I was diagnosed with it in 1st or 2nd grade. ADD just makes it hard to focus, like you can't grasp something for long and just completely lose focus.
ADHD is like that but kinda the hyperactive form of it.

On the shaking of the leg, I'm doing that now... it doesn't mean I have ADD.
Your lack of focus is a result of your lack of realizing awareness must be as important as eating. There are methods, and I'd recommend despite ADD that you meditate. 5 minutes to start working up to 45 minutes, Daily.

I am the same way but I don't have tharetes or whatever or add or adhd. I just can't sit still. Plus, the lack of focus may mean you aren't getting enough sleep. webmd can help you diagnose your problem.
