I am installing an HDTV system using a RG6 cable designed for HDTV and compression fittings designed for the cable. The compression tool seems to work well, but when I take it out, I can easily pull the fitting off. I'm trying to very diligently follow the instructions that came with the tool. Any ideas?

Perhaps you're using a fitting for quad shield RG6 which is larger than RG6 and it's not going to fit snugly. If it's a Thomas & Betts fitting, the plastic should be blue, not purple. If it's purple, you're using the wrong fitting. Any other brand of fitting, I can't help you. You'll have to do more research. Welcome to the: you should have hired a pro club.

it maybe the fitting tool.there are several different sizes of compression fittings.we use ppc conns.there are different lengths as well.i know my compression tool only closes certain fittings.they also make shorter barrel compresssion fittings which my tool cannot close.i would consult the manufacture and make sure you have the right tool for that model of fitting.

I believe that you are using the proper tool, but maybe you are not using the tool the right way.
