Absolutely, as another previously pointed out, anything mildly acidic can be used to marinate for tenderness! That includes, lemon juice, orange juice, all wines, milk, sour cream, any vinegar (red wine, sherry, flavored, balsamic), etc.
The orange juice should make an excellent combination for lamb. Down here in Mexico it is often used with garlic to marinate beef (Carne Asada a la Tampequeña). It is also used with pork in "Cochinita Pibil" the famous dish from the Yucatan.
I have made both and can attest that it is excellent. This Christmas I did two turkeys and soaked them first in a brine of salt, brown sugar, orange juice and Mexican adobo paste. They were simply scrumptious, if I do say so myself.
Use orange marinade without fear, it will be excellent!!!!

Interesting question... marinades usually contain oils, flavourings and a mild acid (such as flavoured vinegars). Orange juice contains a mild acid, so would probably subsitute well for a vinegar. I LOVE lamb, so may well try it! Thanks for the idea!

I know that taking a knife and lightly running it over any meat will break up the tendins and will make it well, tender!!!
