Depends on your age and your health benefits. My teeth were fine as a child, but when my wisdom teeth grew in, my teeth all moved quite a bit.
I pulled the wisdom teeth out that were covered under my insurance. However, because I was over the age of 17, I had to pay the full price for them.
If you are under the age of 17 in most states, you can get up to 50-60% off depending...with insurance. Mine without being able to use my insurance to help at all cost me $5800. I priced a few places in the area. The metal braces were $5500 and the clear metal braces were $6500. I'm wearing Invisaligns and they are great because no one can tell that you are wearing them. However, you do have to make a conscious effort to keep them in all the time except when eating or brushing your teeth.

My husband and I are paying $2950.00 for my daughter's braces and that is with insurance. The costs can vary depending on the appliances needed (palate expanders, braces, retainers, etc.) and the duration of the treatment. You should try Western Dental or a national dental group that can offer you a payment plan(you may be able to do something interest free, if you can pay it off in a year). My guess is that you will be paying about $4000-4500.

The average cost for braces is $5,000. Below is a site where you don't have to pay the full amount with these health benefits.

This is NOT insurance..these are health benefits...With health benefits you will pay $2,250 for them. Thats a savings of 59% on getting braces put on!!

When you signup for Dental benefits that also gives you Free Prescription, Free Vision and Free Chiropractic Care for ONLY $11.95 a month OR $19.95 a month for an entire household.

Happy New Year
