My wedding/reception will be held in a town about 1/2 hour from where I live. Due to the fact that there will be alcohol consumed at my wedding, and that some guests are coming from out of town who are unfamiliar with this area, I was thinking about renting a bus to transport those who want, to get to and from my event.

My question is how do i let everyone know that there will be this bus? Do i send a separate note, word of mouth, add it to the invite or what?

I just want to make sure that everyone is safe to and from my wedding. Also, how would i check to see who needs the ride so i can arraange for the proper size bus or should i just go with the larger one on assumption?

Just wondering about etiquette here.

Thanks in advance!

Just to add- the transportation would be from the hotel where most of my guests will be staying at. I have about 125 guests coming, but not all of them will be needing a ride, I am just leaving it as an option. The bus itself I plan on having make 3 runs back to our town to the hotel with guests who may want to leave early.

Add something on your invitation saying,

"courtesy transportation from (Hotel name) to (Reception name) available." Please indicate ---

and then have a check mark (you will know how many guests per rsvp).

Make sure that you tell them the name of the Hotel so people know exactly where they need to be.

Once you have final numbers, always err on the side of caution - get the larger bus.

What a nice gesture.

i think that this is a good idea. i think that you should get the bus put a letter in the invite stating the you will provide transportation to and from the wedding ( from the hotel only) don't even make the bus ride only for people that drink make it for everyone at the hotel and this way not only will everyone get to and from the wedding safe, the guest will arrive on time and they wont risk the chance of getting lost. may god bless you marriage and please don't forget to invite the lord.

I want to say I think it is GREAT that you are doing this for your guests. It is one of the most thoughtful things a bride and groom can do, regardless of how far the reception is from the hotel.

You don't say how many guests you have, but I would go with word of mouth.

You can make up little fake bus tickets with all the information and mail it with the invitation.

If you want to plan ahead as to how many people will be using the bus, have them mail the ticket back (or 1/2 of it) with their entree selection.

My husband and that i've got been given married this previous summer time and had the comparable subject. Our households stay in diffrent cities. We had them organize their very own way right here, and had drives for the bridal occasion. i do no longer think of it rather is cheesy in any respect. a marriage is somewhat high priced i do no longer think of the bride and groom could desire to have the added price of transportation for travellers besides.

Can you add something to the reply card? Like a check box if they will be utilizing the transportation service?
