hmmm... well last year January was the warmest ever - and this year is pretty much the same.... it was in the 60s here in ohio last week. Cherry blossoms are blooming in New York and Washington DC. Of course, it's only the beginning of the month.

20 degree difference is pretty large to what the normal temp is supposed to be and the elevated temp. It will probably all even out with some really cold air coming and freezing everything up -- but the balance is off.... and that's what really matters. Otherwise Denver wouldn't have been hit with three huge snow storms in 2 weeks while to the central and eastern states, temperatures are in abnormal highs.

Answer: yes some do believe.
I should leave it there since you probably think that the fact will be decided based on how many people believe one way or another.

I'm sure you've given it a good deal of thought and read most of the original research literature. That, together with your years of study in geology, geophysics, astronomy, atmospherical science, oceanography, paleontology and mathematics should certainly qualify you to understand the issue well enough so that your opinion actually SHOULD matter.

On the other hand, you probably know more about it than most of the people who have spouted their opinions in the media, so why not. Your opinion does matter, of course.

To answer your second question. Some of us don't think its ok to ignore something that we are pretty certain that IF ITS ACCURATE may result in the deaths of millions of people. Others of us, like you, believe that, in the long run, they will be dead anyway, so who cares and why does it matter?

I believe it, and more importantly, almost every scientist who is not on the payroll of an oil company believes it.

There is an excellent graph of carbon and temperature level that goes back 400,000 years, MANY warming and cooling cycles including multiple ice ages. Temperature generally follows carbon levels. Since the industrial revolution, the carbon levels have skyrocketed, WELL beyond any previous limits, and WAY outside the warming/cooling cycle limits.

Yes it is happening why not it has happened before if you are asking are humans causing it ......... yes again the correlation between increased CO2 and increase in temperature since the Industrial Revolution started are tight and ice core gas samples correlate as well in support of climate change resulting from atmospheric change.

NO!

The earth goes through a cycle.... we are coming out of an ice age...so that would mean we are warming up...then eventually we will return to an ice age....so we'd be cooling down. Of course it can take hundreds of thousands of years.
