For example, if the police officers find a bunch of criminals at the same time in the same place...

Dental floss is strong and can easily be carried around in little packets whereas a lot of handcuffs may take up the back seat of the police car which would leave no room for the criminals to ride to jail.

You know for awhile the American Dental Association had a cooperative venture with the Chiefs of Police Association and actually used these.
It was a small test project, and it worked so well that the powerful handcuff manufacturers lobby took prompt legal action to stop this. They claimed that it would put thousands of American handcuff workers at Peerless and Smith & Wesson out of business.
To make the story short, the powerful corporate entities won, and you and I have to pay the difference in cost with our tax dollars. Dental floss is so cheap, it was great while it lasted, and we didn't have to worry about not having something to floss with when we got thru with our donut breaks (which as all citizens know is all we are allowed to eat on duty).
The bad thing was, if a supervisor caught you flossing your teeth with city issued floss it was a big hassle. They had specially marked the packages with badges, and the floss was blue so it was easy to spot.. Talk about busted by the man, our Sergeants would hunt down floss violators in their patrol cars with a vengeance. Fortunately I was able to conceal my floss violations in small out of the way places because I was on a motorcycle...

Many officer carry nylon zip ties an dthey work great, as for floss, it might be strong, but it will cut into your skin very easily, and we don't want to hurt the poor dirtbag, too much. Because of course they have rights.

We don't use dental floss but your thinking is correct. We use something called flex cuffs which a plastic but super hard but yet flexible, hence the name. Good thinking on your part. Here is a picture.

yeah but then the officers might find a lot of plaque in the car if the criminal decides to floss his teeth, so then someone would have to clean up the vehicle, so i guess it could be, if you want to clean up teeth goo from your car.

No they carry a plastic restraint that you put on the hands. If the suspects trys to pull them apart it just gets tighter.

Now this is plain silly. They carry nylon flexi-cuffs, which look like wire ties, but super heavy duty.

I believe they actually use nylon cable ties if they run out of handcuffs.
