also, i am sure there are groups, maybe on yahoo, type in a search for "loss of mother" or grieving for loss of mother, you need to talk to someone. i have also found meditation helps, are there any groups for that where you live? sometimes you can find peace within yourself there, sometimes within meditation, guided by someone else, you can come to grips with tragedy.

Sounds like you need a doctor who believes in anti-depressant medications--and fast. Ask your counselor to refer you to a doctor/shrink--let him/her know that counseling alone is not enough for you.

St. John's Wort (over-the-counter) may or may not help with your depression--but you really, really need to see a doctor.
