that if our ancestors have created words such a-s-s and they have been included in dictionaries so they are part of our cultural background (whether you like them or not they are part of your own language), yahoo insists on not allowing me to use them?
why am i denied the right to express myself using words accepted as part of our vocabulary by linguistic institutions???

People usually use them to vent hostility so this is what they are trying to prevent. Funny thing is there is always a way around it, eh? You managed to get a-s-s in ... as did I. (heh)

Those institutions you are referring to consider that 3 letter word either the name of an animal or they describe it as an offensive term that is why Yahoo does not want you to use them, if you were talking about the animal you would have a case, if that is not what you are talking about then you are purposfully being offensive.

Social norms.

People need to have a scale of good/right vs. bad/wrong. People just can't help but compare. Always have and probably always will.

If it wasn't a-s-s it would be some other word.

My guestimate is that this culture and generation has decided to give words differnet meanings and references.
gay used to mean happy and joyous. not anymore
crib used to be where a baby slept. not anymore
awesome used to leave you in awe. not anymore.

Because Yahoo isn't governed by anyone but themselves.. if they find something offensive, it is their right not to post it. You agreed to the terms of service when you joined. You have the freedom to go elsewhere
