huh? These are arguments AGAINST the possiblity of God.
"You want something to be true for ulterior motives"...this is true of people who believe in God, they want to believe in God because they fear death and want to go to heaven. This is illustrated by your second quote "People fear the unknown and therefore avoid it".
Your 3rd quote is a point that everyone should NOT believe in God since the existence of God is only a theory (there is no proof), "Why should I base my life upoun a theory".

-Who is held in a higher respect, your anonymouse "Christian Psychologist", or Freud?...
-People do fear the unkown, which is why they'd rather keep them mysteries, and cling to ideas that seem grand and mysterious, than solving the riddles of the universe logically. If you were taught that God is a painting, well then, it would be rather disturbing to know that God was painted with water colors produced by Crayola.
-People often misconstrue the word "theory" to their benefit withou true understanding of the scientific method. A theory is not a hypothesis, rather a collection of ideas based upon fact that tie all of it together. The idea of something being a theory does not mean it is tenative of flimsy, quite to the contrary to be accepted as a scientific theory something has to correspond completely with the facts. Theory just means it's an abstraction based upon what is observable. As the past isn't directly observable, any processes that have taken place can only be theory no matter how much evidence there is supporting it. Further, theory describes the why of things, while observation only describes the how. Gravity is a theory and light is a theory, special relativity, also consistant in all observable situations, happens to be a theory, that doesn't mean that these things aren't completely accurate, it just describes the type of idea. Likewise, it's hard to claim that a bible is any more than a "flimsy stack of concocted man-made notions" if one is honest with onesself? How do you know that the bible wasn't fabricated 3 years before you were born? Historical records? Well, those also indicate that hundreds of civilizations went uninterupted since before Adam popped into the timeline of the bible, until well after the flood, some even span until the birth of christ or until present. Accepting one historical record, and not many others is beleiving something for alterior motives as you describe, not based on objective observations.

who do the faithful think they are fooling?
they want god to be true so they can get a better life in heaven.Somewhere in between lust and reality, the delusion becomes the truth.
People fear the unknown and therefore avoid it. The faithful fear the end that is death so concoct a fantasy to explain how it is not an end but a new beginning.
"Why should I base my life upon a theory. Something so concrete as my existence warrants a concrete foundation of facts not a flimsy stack of concocted man-made notions" Political Activist.

God exists. You may not believe me but i have personally experienced the holy spirit. You should try it sometime. Ever since i became a Christian my life has been transformed. I know that all of you are against me, but thats the thing, everyone wants to fit in, well, I AM STANDING OUT, God exists and your answers prove nothing. One day you will regret what you have chosen, so, you might want to change, my life is forever changed in a good way. Believe me or not, you will know the truth when you die. Hope you decide to change, I wish you the best of luck.

First of all, your quotes are a jumbled mess. Get better material. And be clear what your position is. As for myself, I think it takes more inner strength to declare yourself an atheist than to buy unquestioned into the whole organized religious thing. I begrudge no one their beliefs. But I don't question yours. Don't question mine. And not believing is my belief.
By the way...I'm guessing I won't be winning the best answer?

Who do YOU think you are fooling? Just because you can come up with some quotations of various Christians giving their reasons for believing in God doesn't constitute a proof at all. Give us some evidence for the existence of God. Not just a bunch of quotes.

Who do the Christinans think they are fooling? They claim to love God and the bible but by their actions they are pagans deguised as christians. Don't beleive me? check out their holidays and see where they originatedlike Christmas and Easter, then check the bible and you find God saying not to learn the way of the pagans nor take their days and claim them as God's.

Aren't you the same guy who wanted to know why gays are claiming to be involved in a struggle for equal rights? Yet another example of a person "of faith" who has neither love, compassion or empathy for people who are different.
Some faith.

I'm not trying to fool anyone, which is why I proudly proclaim my atheist status.
I fail to see a connection between your question and the quotes you provided, or the logic of either.
