Like with anything else--don't OVER-do it. Too much of anything is no good.

Your 8 glasses of water and other fluids per day should be enough to curb your appetite. Make sure to exercise--or at least walk--every day.

While drinking water is good for you, too much can be dangerous. 8 glasses of water per day is recommended. The exception is when you exercise, perform strenuous activity or are outside on a hot day for an extended period of time.
Water flushes your body of toxins, but you also loose electrolytes as well. Electrolytes are vital to your organs and muscles.
There are documented cases of people who literally drank themselves to death because their electrolytes were literally non existent thereby causing a heart attack.
People have described feeling lightheaded, dizzy, heart palpatations and shortness of breath when their electrolytes start to be too low.
If you want to use water and a basis to a healthy diet program, drink a glass of water 10 minutes before you eat as it will give you a feeling of fullness before you eat. Thats 3 of 8.
Follow the food pyramid. It's the best weight loss program you'll ever find. Cut out soda, caffeine and high sugar drinks. Cut out concentrated sweets like candy cake and donuts. I lost 35 pounds following the food pyramid to the letter. Start walking. Do something with a work out buddy. If you plan on losing weight, do it slowly- remember you didnt get this way overnight and you won't lose it overnight either!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Drinking loads of water will not make you loose weight. However it can help you to loose weight. Drinking water before & during meals helps to fill your stomach which will cause to consume less calories. This could cause you to loose weight if the number of calories you consume is less than the number that you use in a day.

For the water to help you loose weight you have to eat sensibly. If you drank a lot of water & ate high calorie foods like candy, cake, & ice cream, you probably wouldn't loose weight. However If you accompanied that water with a salad with low cal dressing, a 3 oz. serving of meat, a baked potato [plain], another vegetable, & a glass of skim milk, with NO desert you would probably loose weight.

As far as water retention goes. A high intake of salt will cause you to gain weight because you body will retain water to achieve an electrolyte balance. Now this is where drinking a lot of water can cause you to loose weight. As you drink more water without consuming more salt you body will release water & salt, causing you to loose weight. This is a false weight loss because you have not lost any body tissue, fat or muscle.

To loose weight you must consume fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your current weight. Another way is to exercise enough to use more calories than you take in. The best way to loose weight is to eat a little less,& to exercise a little more.

You want to be sure not to loose more than 2 pounds a week unless you are under a doctor's care. If you loose more than 2 pounds a week you could be loosing muscle as well as fat, which is not healthy.

It takes more calories to maintain a pound of muscle than it does to maintain a pound of fat. That doesn't seem fair, but that's the way it is. That's why the best way to loose weight is to exercise more, & to eat less. Also keep in mind that a pound of fat takes up a lot more space than a pound of muscle. That's why sometimes you may not loose any weight, but you will drop a size or two.

Good luck.

It's a possibility that it could. If you're drinking lots of water a day it could get rid of some toxins within your digestive system. Depending on how much toxic sludge is in your system, you could lose some weight (about 2-8 lbs). Lemme know how that works out.

Of course! It cleanses the system. howver, you need to cut back on salty foods (those with a high sodium content) otherwise the salt will hold onto he water, creating water weight.
