In all liklihood ... to be very bored. You will sit and wait, and just maybe joiin a large group to be considered as jurors. Then you will wait some more until you are questioned by the attorneys to see if they want you on the jury. Overall, you will see how grossly inefficient our judicial system is.

And if you do get on a panel, you'll see how little reality has to do with what is actually presented in court. I know there are exceptions, but most of the people I met on jury system come away feeling depressed and frustrated at the waste of time and resources spent on totally irrelevant issues that have little to do with justice.

expect to be bored out of your mind! have you been selected to the jury or are you in the pool of perspective jurors? i have never actually served on a jury but have been in the pool a number of times and it is sooooooooo boring! you sit in the courtroom with other "could be" jurors and wait until your name is called. sort of like roll call. and then your name will be called again along with 11 others and you actually have to go up to the jury box and lawyers from both sides ask you questions about anything. and then if one side wants to pick you, you will serve on the jury. good luck and bring a book with you!

A really long wait in a very large room with lot's of other people who don't want to be there either.

Bring a book, bring a bottle of water, maybe some emergency rations....

Good luck, I've been called twice and served on a jury 2x, I can't seem to get out of them.

You can probably expect to show up and get sent home most times. If you got picked for grand jury, you won't be expected to show up but about 4 times, district and circuit court are different. I was on circuit court jury duty and had to show up and got sent home several times. But I finally did end up sitting in on a trial. It was very interesting and I was glad I got the opportunity. It makes you feel good to do your civic duty and to see that justice is served.

Don't bring electronic devices or knives, or other prohibited items, because if you have to hand it over to security you may not get it back. You may get stuck next to someone who is coughing or sneezing, or who stinks, so bring a cotton scarf or handkercheif to breathe through. You will be bored while waiting, so bring a paper book. If you don't want to listen to the televsion the other people will be watching, that's too bad, because you have to listen for your number to be called, so no earbuds, headphones or earplugs. Remember you may have to wait in line, or wait awhile, to get to the toilet or drinking fountain. If you do get chosen they will give you pen & paper, etc. Be ready to answer (or refuse to answer) some questions that may be unexpected during the process where lawyers choose the jury. If you don't want to swear the oath with the word "God" in it, ask for the Alternate Oath, and they have to permit it.

Depends on what kind of jury you're on. I was on a federal. On call for 90 days and on a jury for 6 days. It all depends.

Small amount of money for serving and a lot of hard work and many long hours

U won't get the whole truth, and can't get all the marked evidence. All the jurors I was with was only interested in "When and Where are we going to eat" Been there, done it, won't do it again.
