First, something has to be killed to eat it's meat. Second, vegetables etc. are of abundance, yet people still choose to eat meat which meat isn't an essential. Third, vegetables are far more healthy than eating meat, which eating meat actually harms your body.
If vegetables weren't of abundance and meat was, then I could understand eating meat for your body's survival which wouldn't make eating meat a sin.

"All carnivorous animals eat others to survive."
That is my point. We aren't strictly carnivores. In this day and age, we aren't eating meat to survive, we are eating meat as a delicacy even though it is unhealthy for our bodies when compared to vegetables. Will people die if they didn't eat meat? No, but if there were no vegetables then people would die.
In essence, people are putting pleasure before their body's own well being. Is this not a sin?

"Our human ancestors routinely began to include meat in their diets to compensate for a serious decline in the quality of plant foods."
dottidal,
That is the whole point I am trying to make. In a scenario like that, it wouldn't be a sin because you had to eat meat to take care of your body's own well being.
In this day and age, that scenario is no longer the issue. This no longer voids it from being a sin.
Is putting pleasure before your body's own well-being a sin? No one is going to answer this simple question?

Eating meat is not a sin. People eat meat because it tastes good. If you want to focus on killing a living thing, plants are also livng things. Eating meat will not keep you out of the kingdom of heaven.

It really depends on your religious beliefs. The Hindu religion forbids eating meat. Islam forbids eating pork. Judiasm forbids eating shellfish. Christianity has no regulations concerning eating meat.
I like to eat meat, and like you, I was worried that it might not be ethical or moral. I thought about it for a while, and then I remembered that Jesus ate meat, and He never said it was a sin. I am a Christian, so I live according to the teachings of Jesus. Other people may have other religious beliefs, and that is fine. But as far as I am concerned, it is not a sin to eat meat.

Eating meat is not a sin. But if you eat too much of it so that it makes you sick or unhealthy you are damaging the dwelling place of God (your body). Your body is considered a holy temple and should not be violated/damaged through poor eating habits. There are also those who consider the Levitical laws regarding meat to still be valid today. Like pork for example is considered an unclean meat and shouldn't be eaten. I hope this helps.

No. In Acts, Peter is on the roof of a house and what he describes as a big sheet comes down from heaven. On it are aevery type of animal on Earth, and the Lord's voice tells Peter to eat whatever he wants. Peter says, "But Lord, some of these are unclean," and God rebukes Peter and tells him that now everything is clean in His sight. So eating meat is ok.
However, it is healthier to eat less meat, and pork is really not that great 4 u.

Eating meat is not a sin.
Our human ancestors routinely began to include meat in their diets to compensate for a serious decline in the quality of plant foods. It was this new meat diet, full of densely-packed nutrients, that provided the catalyst for human evolution, particularly the growth of the brain. Without meat, it's unlikely that proto humans could have secured enough energy and nutrition to evolve into the intelligent creatures they became.
This does not reflect on today's vegetarian diets, which can be completely adequate, given modern knowledge of nutrition. However, In many parts of the world where people have little access to meat, they run the risk of malnutrition. This has happened in Southeast Asia where people relied heavily on a single plant food - polished rice, and developed the nutritional disease, beriberi. Even in the Southern United States, many people dependent largely on corn meal developed the nutritional disease, pellagra.
I think eating meat or a vegetarian diet is perfectly fine, it all depends on what is available to you and what you prefer. Neither is "bad" or sinful, as long as you are getting all the nutrients your body requires.

It actually depends on religion. In Judaism certain meats like pork and seafood are forbidden. In Hinduism eating meat is a sin. To vegetarians and PETA devotees like me it is. Just depends on who you ask.

well if your one who belivies in god, meat is a sin in a way but all depends. You see in gods way poitray and any pig product, and any thing whith hoves is said to be swine, meaning if you eat swine your body is said to become dirty and of a filth, but God did you can eat the pork, poitray, and even thing with hoves if you put it in water and let it be cleanessed.
Olny then it is not a sin to eat meat.

YOu're absolutely right.
You actually do NOT need meat,
and studies have shown that a high meat diet causes obesity, cancer, heart disease, diabetes,
and a miriad of other illnesses.
