Dinner time use to be trial type experience for me. My Dad was totally convinced that mushrooms were good for me and I thought he was lying.
I hated them so much. Before dinner time was up I'd find another way to get them out of my plate while the parents weren't looking. Example: bathroom toilet, wrap them in napkins and stick'em at the bottom of the garbage or stuff'em in my bag and dump them on the way to school the next day.
As I got older I realized, there were hundreds of different mushrooms out there that all had different tastes.
Now my hate has turned to liking them.

Honey Mushrooms, Shittake Mushrooms, Portabello Mushrooms, Oyster Mushrooms, Cantrell Mushrooms, Morel Mushrooms are but a few names.

You should all get out there and check it out before you write them off. It's very interesting the recipes you can put together now-a-days just by using mushrooms as a main ingredient.

Button mushrooms (N0 1's) also know as champagne I still don't like because they are tasteless and carry no nutritional value I've been told.

Springtime meant scouring the neighborhood woods for wild mushrooms: yellow sponge, grey sponge and snake heads. These were fried up for breakfast, dinner, or supper and with buttered bread made a meal for me. I never even knew about the mushrooms that are grown for marketing.

I used to. Now I can tolerate and swallow pizza mushrooms whole if I have to.

Lately I have been craving stuffed mushrooms (with the breadcrumb and parmesian filling) and I love portobello in just about anything.
